The Greatest products of 2017: Skin Care, Fragrance and Make-up

Hello Friends,

2018 has commenced and it's time for me to introduce to you the products that made it to my list of favourites from 2017! There were so many unique and simply genius products in 2017 but I could only narrow it down to 7.

Skin Care

1. Son & Park Beauty Water

I have repurchased this product twice now and just like Charlotte Cho herself from SokoGlam, I use this religiously, day and night. It does an exceptional job of moisturising and refreshing my skin. I use this to regularly tone my face after double cleansing.

2. Shu Uemura Sublime Cleansing oil

I'm quite late to the Shu uemura cleansing oil band wagon, and the hype did not disappoint. I love this cleansing oil. I purchased this earlier in the year at a huge shu uemura sale, so I may I have grabbed a few. I use this as a part of my double cleansing routine as my first cleanse, followed by my Cetaphil cleanser. I only need one pump of this stuff and it removes all my base make up. It's very gentle, mild and not stripping at all. The scent also isn't particularly strong but instead is light and slightly citrus. I highly recommend it if you're on the look out for a good quality cleansing oil.

3. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronised Complex II

These are one of those products that I really bought on a whim. I just heard on the YouTube lands that it was a great eye cream and I desperately needed one at the time. I also had a gift card for Myer, so why not. I really was not expecting much when buying it aside from I hope it does what it claims, such as reducing dark circles, fine lines and dullness. I've been using it for almost a year now and I'd say that my under eyes look and feel firmer but it hasn't completely eliminated all my fine lines. I do love how hydrating, brightening it is. I recommend this product to those who are looking for a preventative measure, to fight the multiple signs of ageing in its early stages.

Make up

1. J. One Jelly Pack

I've been searching for my ultimate primer for years now and I think the J.One Jelly Pack is a close one. I came across this product while watching a Nikkie tutorials video and was immediately intrigued. When I wear make-up, I am usually wearing it for long periods of time, around 6-10 hours sometimes. So, I was really determined to look for a good and reliable primer. To my surprise, the J.One Jelly Pack proved to be quite great. I wore my YSL Fusion ink foundation for almost 10 hours doing various physical activities, that involved a lot of sweating and my foundation did not look bad. However, any longer than 10 hours, I could tell it wouldn't be able hold up. But despite the long day, my make up still remained intact. I might have sweated it all off but my skin didn't look blotchy nor cakey, my skin still appeared smooth and very skin like. I was impressed.

2. YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation

This impulse buy turned out to be my favourite cushions of all time. The foundation applies smoothly and has a very skin like finish that isn't too satin nor matte. It creates the perfect balance between the two. It has a buildable light to medium coverage and little does go a long way. It holds up really well on my combination skin, and I've never seen it cake or break a part on my skin even after long hours of wear. It absorbs and adheres really well onto the skin. The only downside is that the cushion doesn't contain that much product and I found myself really dipping my applicator hard into the sponge to get any of the foundation towards the end. It really is great product, it's just quite the splurge.

3. NYX Liquid Suede (Soft Spoken)

I've been wearing this colour non-stop since purchasing it at a L'Oreal Sale. It's neutral mauve colour makes it easy to wear for everyday. Whilst, its matte staying power also allows it to stay on all day without drying your lips.

Dolce Gabbana Light Blue

I use to own the full size of this product many years ago and remember really enjoying the scent. However, I recently received it again for Christmas as a rollerball and fell in love with it again. The scent is slightly floral and sweet with the right amount of citrus. It's such a light scent, perfect for the summer time or anytime of the year really.

Hope you enjoyed my little review of all my favourites from 2017.

Double Cleanse your Soul.

Thank you! Kat x
