Review: NEOGEN Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine

Hi again!

Exfoliating is probably one of the most important steps of your skin care routine. It buffs away the dead skin cells, revealing visibly brighter healthy skin. It also optimises your other skin care products allowing them to be extra effective upon application.

The Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine is a new way of exfoliating and after trying it just once, I was honestly impressed with how gentle and effective it was the day after.

Features
  • "Promotes visibly clearer, smoother & tighter skin"
  • 30 pieces (200ml)
  • Wine Extracts and fermented ingredients

Packaging

The gauze pads are stacked in a fairly bulky and wide plastic jar sealed by a screw tight plastic lid. This prevents the pads from drying out and being exposed to bacteria. The gauze pads have been pre soaked in fermented wine extracts that contain a lot of antioxidants and other exfoliating ingredients such as gylcolic and lactic acid. Each pad is thrown away after each use.

Texture and use

The size of each gauze pad is comparable to your usual cotton round pads. One side will have the gauze surface and the other side will have the quilted like texture. The gauze surface is what you would use against your face to gently exfoliate followed by the quilted side that will remove any excess dirt or dead skin. Between the gauze and guilted sides of the pad is where you can insert your fingers to comfortably exfoliate and manoeuvre around your entire face. After this process it is important that you rinse your face with lukewarm water, followed by your regular skin care.

Scent

I am in love with the scent of this product! It smells like sweet berries/grapes. The scent is a little strong when you first apply it to your face but don't worry because this will no longer linger after you rinse your face with water.

My Opinion
  • The exfoliating process will depend on your skin type but usually it is 2-3 times a week. I use this method at least once a week along side chemically exfoliating on other days.
  • Immediately the day after using this product I noticed visible results. My skin tone appeared balanced, brighter, smoother and completely new.
  • I didn't see a huge difference in my nose pores but I did notice that my face felt a lot more plup and well moisturised from the inside. I felt like this product improved the overall quality of my skin and made applying make up a dream. No more random dry patches!
  • This exfoliant was very gentle on my combination sensitive skin and would highly recommend it to those with all skin types.
