Review: Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm

Hi again!

So this time I'll be reviewing Banila Co's highly popular Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm. I'm sure some of you may or may not have heard of the double cleansing method. This is something I have been doing religiously and it is safe to say, I can no longer live without. It was during some online shopping on sokoglam that I realised that double cleansing was a major part of regular skincare. Before this I had no idea that double cleansing was something that was so frequently practiced by many other people. This short two step process involves throughly removing all make up, dead skin and sebum. To be truthful this simple method has changed my skin a lot and in a good way. Now, I can no longer live by cleansing just once. Once a double cleanser always a double cleanser and it be me!

  • 100ml
  • Removes make up

The tub of cleansing balm is entirely made of pink plastic. The screw tight lid is also made of a dense metallic plastic. Once you open the lid, there is a plastic cover that secures in place a spatula used to dispense the product. This was designed to serve as a way to keep the product clean between each use and prevent it from exposure to bacteria.

The balm is solid but once in contact with the skin melts into a very smooth, buttery like texture. Once massaged into the skin, it leaves an oily residue that washes off completely with warm water. In the container, the balm appears to be a rose pink shade but once applied to the skin it dissolves into a translucent white colour.

My opinion
  • I usually use this balm as the first step to my double cleansing routine. In doing so I make sure to massage the product thoroughly into the skin before rinsing it off. This is then followed by my regular facial cleanser.
  • This balm does an amazing job of removing and breaking down all my make up (water proof make up included).
  • My skin would feel instantly soft and never stripped of it's natural moisture, like many cleansers can sometimes do.
  • I normally use warm water to simply wash of the balm but another option could be using a warm damp towel to remove the balm residue.

It has a very subtle sweet, floral scent.

My results

I have been using this product for a year now and have noticed some improvements in the quality of my skin. I've noticed that I am getting less break outs on my T-zone and that my skin is feeling much smoother and silkier. I am particularly impressed with how this melts away all my make up and even removes the build up of oil and sebum that would otherwise sit in my pores and cause pimples.

It's because of the balms silky like texture that it is able to gently loosen and grip onto the accumulation of dirt and dead skin. It's sounds insane but one of the ways to clear your face from these free radicals is to use oil to remove oil, because we all know that oil will only float on top of water. After using this balm I can no longer go without double cleansing. It has definitely change my skin care game and dramatically improved the quality of my skin. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to improve their cleansing routine or for those who just want clean, radiant skin with that glow from within.
